1st Day: Girona – Lloret de Mar (45 km)
We are in Catalonia, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in one coast that extends on about 60 km. from the maritime section of the province Girona with the French border until Blanes, we are in Costa Brava, at an hour far from Barcelona. “Brava” in Spanish means wild like the impervious coasts, dominated by the nature and by magical coves. Arrival at the airport of Girona and departure to Lloret de Mar, one of the most popular places for holiday. Its main beach is over 1500 meters long and it is one of the most popular of the entire Costa Brava. Accommodation in hotel, dinner and breakfast.

Curiosity: the “Monument  to the fisherman’s wife” is a bronze sculpture situated in the end of the beach of Lloret de mar erected in the 1966 to commemorate the first 1000 years of land’s life. It’s been considered one of the main symbols of the city, and the legend is confirming that if you touch the feet of the sculpture while looking in the horizon your wish will come true.

2nd Day: Lloret de Mar – Tossa de Mar – Sant Feliu de Guixols (85 km)
After the breakfast, a day dedicated to the discovery of Costa Brava, with the city of Tossa de Mar, named “The blue paradise” of Chagall; the only medieval fortified land still present in entire Costa Brava. The historic center, Ciutat Vella, perfectly conserved and overlooking the sa, in the 1931 was declared Historic Artistic National Monument. We proceed to Sant Feliude Guixols, famous for the pine forests, holm oaks, and cork oaks. The architectonic complex of the Benedict monastery is the biggest expression of the village and conserves its most antique part, the Romanesque “Porta Ferrata” (X century), that became a real symbol of the place. The city’s past, focused on the cork and stopper industry, has left an important architectonic heredity. For this there are testimonies like the modernist houses on the beach of Sant Pol or the noble houses along the sea, between which rises the building of the casino of Constancy. Another interesting places are the Toy museum, the one of Spumante Capsules And the one of Salvation; also the harem of Saint Elm, with one of the most spectacular belvedere of Costa Brava, the exact point in which Ferran Agullo has baptized the coast with this name.

Foto stop: “Pedralta” is the biggest embossed stone in Europe. during the centuries this geological monument signing the communal border between the Santa Cristina d’Aro and  Sant Feliu de Guixols. In the 1966 the stone has lost its natural equilibrium and has fallen, it was hoisted in the original seat after three years.  Lunch in a restaurant during the excursion. The center of Salou is modern with parks and a main street followed by thousand years old olive trees.

Curiosity: here and there in the center there are spreads of ornamental fountains. The most famous (Cybernetic Fountains, Illuminated Fountain, the Labyrinth) are producing light spectacles, sounds and splashes of water. Near this is the roman aqueduct. Saint Maria of Miracle, a church that belonged to the Templar knights; the Cathedral, constructed in the most high part of the city; it combines architect Romanesque and gothic elements.
